Anna Grace's Gymnastics Recital

Anna Grace has been taking gymnastics for the past 5 years. She has come so far in her tumbling, bar, beam and vault. She has loved going to Flip Flop, but has decided it is time to try some different activities and is trading in her gymnastics shoes for dance shoes!

This year Anna Grace earned a medal, ribbon and 5 year trophy.

Thanks Mrs. Misty for 5 great years!

February 11th - AG's last day to be 9!

2 Days Old

5 yeards old 7 years old 10 years old!
February 11, 2011 was a little emotional for me. My baby would be turning 10 the next day and it just didn't seem possible! How can it be that 10 years have gone by so quickly? Seems like yesterday that we were meeting her for the first time, changing her diapers, swaddling her, and getting up for midnight feedings! It doesn't seem possible that she is in the 4th grade, has braces and her ears pierced! Seems like she should still be in rompers, smocked dresses and have bows in her hair! Now she refuses to wear bows, wants to wear jeans, Toms, and NorthFace jackets!
While I am a little sad that she is no longer a toddler, I have to say that I've enjoyed every minute of the past 10 years! I am humbled and amazed that God chose me to be her mother and to guide her through this journey called Life! I pray for wisdom as Scott and I raise her to know and love our Heavenly Father more with every day. We definitely need lots of wisdom and patience as the teenage years grow ever so close!!!
Anna Grace, we love you with all our hearts and are so proud of the young lady your are becoming. We look forward to watching God's plan for you life unfold with each passing day.

We Love You,
Mama and Daddy

She's Growing Up...

Just before Christmas break, I finally allowed Anna Grace to get her ears pierced. She has been begging for years and I kept telling her that she had to be 10 years old. So she was pretty surprised when I said we could go ahead and get them pierced at Christmas.
Avery Ray went along for moral support. Anna Grace was so brave! She said it hurt a little but was so glad she finally got it done! I think she looks beautiful, but I'm a little teary-eyed that my little girl is growing up!

Singing and Reading

The Pierce St. Pride Choir sang at Barnes and Noble after Thanksgiving to kick off their Book Fair. Even though it was cold and rainy, there were lots of kids running around in lime green Pierce St. Pride shirts (and lots of moms and dads!) The kids did a great job singing their hearts out!
Of course, the kids begged for some new books (love that!) So, this is what I found when I turned around in the car on the way home!

Mani & Pedi Tradition

Several years ago, Anna Grace and I started a tradition of getting manicures and pedicures right before school starts. We love taking time to pamper ourselves before the craziness of early morning, lunches, and homework begins.

Anna Grace's Awards Day & Luau

Thursday was Anna Grace's awards day and end of year luau. She was so excited when she was called up on stage! She got the Spelling, Media, Positive Behavior and Science awards. She was also voted class favorite in Mrs. Bolton's class. We are so proud of the young lady she is becoming. I absolutely cannot believe that she is finished with 3rd grade! She mentioned the other day that she was a 4th grader, and I nearly cried!
Kaylee Beth, AG & Merritt - excited about their awards
BFFs - Abby, Kaylee Beth, AG & Merritt were in the same class this year. The girls were ready to party after the awards ceremony! Bring on the Luau!
Caroline & AG have been friends since they were in the baby room at HBC. Hopefully they will be in the same class next year!

Tickling the Ivories

Anna Grace played beautifully at her piano recital a few weeks ago. She said she was really nervous, but we couldn't tell. She played "Chugga Chugga Choo-Choo" by Gutierrez and "Stomping Dance" by Goldston. We are so proud of you, Anna Grace!
Anna Grace was so happy her grandparents came to her piano recital.

Planet Project

Anna Grace came home with an assignment that is a mom's worst nightmare - a project!!! Luckily, we were given 1 week to complete the "Solar System Diorama" instead of a couple of days. It actually ended up being a pretty fun project for both Anna Grace and me. We researched the planets and came up with facts about each one. Once we figured out what size and color we needed for the planet, we got down and dirty with some foam balls and modeling clay. The tricky part was hanging each planet and finding a way to label them. We both think that it turned out really well - maybe we'll get an "A"!!

Happy Birthday Sweet Anna Grace

It is so hard for me to believe that it has been 9 years since God blessed us with our sweet Anna Grace. She is growing up before our eyes. Scott and I often comment that to us she should still be 2 years old - chubby and round. We have enjoyed every phase of her life and look forward to watching as she grows into all God has planned for her. Happy Birthday, Anna Grace! We love you!

Anna Grace's 9th Birthday Party

Our sweet birthday girl! I can't believe my little girl is nearly 9 years old! (Her birthday is actually this Friday.) We celebrated her big day a little early with a party with her closest friend. The girls had a great time hanging out, eating and opening presents. She was completely surprised when she opened the iPod Touch that her grandparents, D ad and I gave her. She has been talking about wanting one for months and planned on saving her money to buy one. After presents and cake, we piled in the cars and headed to the movies to see "The Tooth Fairy." The theater was really full, but they were able squeeze on the 2nd row! They loved it and laughed most of the movie. Scott and I are so thankful that Anna Grace is growing up with such a sweet group of girls.
