Time for Baseball!

It felt so good outside today! Walker and Scott took advantage of the warmer weather and headed out to have a little batting practice. T-ball season is right around the corner!

Walker Reading!

This week was a big week for Walker - he read his 1st book! I couldn't believe it! He is in a Kindergarten class at our church, but he will be repeating Kindergarten next year because of his October birthday. So this year I was expecting him to learn his letters, sounds and how to write is name. I never expected him to be reading by this time of the year! We haven't even been working on sight words, but we are now! I am so pleased with his progress, and I have not doubt it is because Mrs. Nicole is a fabulous teacher! Thanks Mrs. Nicole!

Kung Fu Walker!

Lately Walker has gotten into karate. Probably because he has been watching a lot of Kung Fu Panda! I couldn't resist getting the moves on video. It's hilarious!

Dress Up!

Last Sunday Charlotte came over to play with Anna Grace. I didn't even know they were in the house! They play so well together - probably because Charlotte will do anything Anna Grace says! They ended up playing dress up so I couldn't resist getting a pic. Charlotte makes a really cute Dorothy and AG is styling in her '60s outfit!

Strike a Pose!

I just couldn't resist snapping a few pics of Anna Grace before school this morning. She looked so cute - and grown up - in her Chez Ami outfit. Of course, she had to pose a little!

100 days of Kindergarten

Walker's kindergarten class celebrated their 100th day of school. They had pizza in their PJs and did all kinds of activities with 100s. Part of their homework this week was making a poster with 100 somethings. Walker chose to write his name with 100 marshmallows. I can't believe how fast this year is flying by. Before too long he'll be off to "big school." I know he can't wait, but I just wish this year would slow down.

Too much DS time?

Walker and Anna Grace have had a great time playing Walker's Nintendo DS he got for Christmas. Super Mario Brothers is their fav - and Mom's too, I must say. Walker wakes up and asks to play his DS. He comes home from school and wants to play his DS. On the weekends, we have to limit the amount of time he is allowed to play it or he would be glued to that thing 24/7!

So, the other day he and I were on our way back from dropping Anna Grace off at piano lessons. He started pointing at different neighborhoods and saying, "I haven't been to that level" after each neighborhood. After he said that about 3 times I figured out that he meant he had not been in those neighborhoods! Perhaps we need a break from the DS for a few day!

Anna Grace's Baptism

Sunday was a very special day for our family--Anna Grace was baptized at Harrisburg Baptist Church. We all were so excited when she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in December. She was excited to be baptized but also a little nervous. David Langerfeld, our assistant pastor, baptized her and several other children who had made professions of faith. It is so sweet to see children come to know Jesus.
Scott and I pray that Anna Grace will follow Jesus in all she does and that she will grow in His likeness. We know that God has a plan and a purpose for her life and we look forward to watching it unfold in her life. Praise be to God!
"In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 1:3

Trying out the Easy Bake

On New Year's Day AG wanted to try out the Easy Bake Oven. She insisted that we could make some cakes to take to the Ray's house for dinner for the kids to have for dinner. So after Daddy picked up a 100 watt light bulb (the baking source!) we started mixing it up. I am still amazed that it only takes 1 1/2 teaspoons of water, but the cakes turned out pretty good. And the kids really did eat them for dessert! I think AG is going to be a great cook!
Sweet Walker cleaning up the dishes! (Like that tattoos?)

Walker & PopPop

Walker got to hang out with PopPop while we were at my parents for a few days after Christmas. Walker absolutely loves omelets - especially ones made by my Dad. He was thrilled to show PopPop how well he can crack an egg and stir the omelet!

If the tongue is out, he's really concentrating!

Later, PopPop decided that Walker was old enough for a ramp and they set out to make one. It turned out great! We are looking forward to better weather so Walker to try it out!

Christmas Day at Nana & PopPop's House

After all the excitement of Christmas morning, we headed south to my parents' house. We had a wonderful dinner, and then the wrapping paper began flying! It was pretty orderly at first, but then the chaos ensued! While we were grateful for the gifts, we were more thankful for the time we got to spend with our family.

Batman! AG with new highlights--good thing they wash out!

Look What Santa Brought!

When the kids walked into the den on Christmas morning Scott and I heard squeals of delight - mostly from Anna Grace! The first thing she saw was Emily - the American Girls she had been wanting for 2 months! Walker was quieter - taking it all in. The first thing he spotted was his Air Hockey game. They couldn't believe all the toys they got. Walker was a little disappointed that Santa didn't bring him a trampoline, but Santa left a note explaining that it wouldn't fit in his pack this year. He soon forgot about the trampoline when he saw the Nintendo DS Santa brought!

Santa even brought gifts for Chip!
After they had taken in all the Santa had brought, it was on to the presents under the tree. Walker was not at all excited about the clothes Mom and Dad got him, but loved the race track and Magnetics. He really liked the Hoops game Anna Grace picked out for him. Anna Grace loved her boots and new coat, but was especially excited about he cash register. The make-up kit Walker gave her was a hit too.
Both kids were a little scared that their bikes were too big. Of course, Walker was the first to try his out. It really was a little big, so we lowered the seat at low as we could. Anna Grace had to be prodded out the door to ride her bike. She quickly realized that her bike wasn't too big and really loved riding it. Even Daddy took a quick spin around the driveway on Walker's bike!
