1st Day of School

C ool Dude!
Walker and Ms. Lindsey

We are so glad Anna Grace and Kaylee Beth are in the same class.
Anna Grace & Mrs. Bolton
Wonder how long this seating arrangement will last?
Friday was the 1st day of school for Anna Grace and Walker. They had very different thoughts about starting school. Walker absolutely could not wait. He has been excited about going to "big school" for weeks. Anna Grace, on the other hand, couldn't believe summer was over. She knows what to expect from "big school" and is not excited about homework and tests! They both seem to have really good teachers and good friends in their class.

Fun in the Destin Sun

We just got back home from a wonderful beach trip! Anna Grace and Liza left for Destin with Bebe and Daddy Jim on Sunday. Scott, Walker, Josh and I drove in late Tuesday night. We got in a few hours of beach time on Wednesday before the rain started. Bebe and I took the kids to see Up in 3-D and did a little shopping.
We spent a good deal of time on the beach and in the pool the rest of the week. Anna Grace and Liza didn't want to come out of the ocean on Monday; but when the red flags came out, Anna Grace would have nothing to do with the ocean and preferred the indoor pool! She also collected lots of shells to put at the base of our new fountain at home. Walker had a big time at the beach. He enjoyed throwing the football with Scott and Josh as well as riding the waves on his boogie-board. He even helped Miley and Liza build a few sand castles and rivers.
We enjoyed lots of fabulous food! Walker ate his weight in fried shrimp. Anna Grace stuck to the basic chicken tenders. (I think she might start growing feathers!) We all really enjoyed Baytown where the kids loved the bungee jumping (on trampolines!) Walker fell asleep at the table, while the girls caught part of an outdoor movie they were showing.
Saturday morning Scott and I took the kids to the Donut Hole, and then headed to the Track for a little putt-putt and go-carts. We all had a blast on the mountain Putt-Putt course. Anna Grace and I even got a hole in one! We are still not sure who won - Scott hasn't added the scores up yet (wonder why?) Everyone got soaked at the bumper boats, and then it was off to the go-carts. Anna Grace choose to sit that one out (too loud), but Walker and Liza had a great time whizzing by us. Later, we were all laughing as we rammed into each other in the bumper cars! Then it was off to the beach for our last day of sand and sun.

Soccer Brings in Family

The state soccer tournament was this weekend. Teams from all over the state came to Tupelo to compete. Scott's cousins' daughters play soccer for a Clinton team so their whole family came to Tupelo for the tournament. We haven't seen them in several years and were so excited to spend Friday evening with them. We had a great time catching up and the kids had the best time playing. We all decided that we needed to get together more often.

Rampin'

Fearless! That pretty much sums up Walker. He is willing to do nearly anything once. PopPop made this ramp for him at Christmas. So Walker had to show off a little while PopPop was here this weekend. Won't be long until he's doing wheelies off the ramp!

Happy Birthday PopPop!

PopPop's 60th birthday was on Sunday, and we were so excited to spend part of the day with him. He and Nana drove up from Brandon on Sunday so that they could be here to go to Anna Grace's piano recital on Monday night. Hope you had a wonderful birthday PopPop! We love you!

Pilates anyone?

The kids came in the other night while I was trying to tone up with a new Pilates DVD that came with 2 exercise bands. They thought the bands were the coolest things ever. They watched intently while I finished and then begged to see the video again - this time they wanted to use the bands! They were hilarious! But I was very impressed that they both actually worked very hard to do the exercises just like the lady on the video! They'll be Pilates pros before long!

Happy Mother's Day!

What a wonderful Mother's Day! Anna Grace and Walker surprised me with gifts this morning. They were so proud that they picked the gifts out themselves. After church, we hosted lunch for most of Scott's family. This evening, we enjoyed the children's choir program at church. All the children did such a great job explaining that we all are made to praise God. The day would have been perfect if we had been able to spend time with my mother, but we are looking forward to seeing her next weekend. Scott and I are so blessed to have been raised by godly women. I pray that God will lead me as I strive to teach my children His ways.

We LOVE Tennis!

Anna Grace and Walker are loving some tennis these days. Walker has always loved to hit out on the driveway and frequently asked to go with me to the courts. Anna Grace has never really shown an interest in tennis. She doesn't really like to sweat! But we talked about how fun tennis is and Anna Grace decided she wanted to take lessons this summer and go out to the courts to practice with me. I told her that I would need to get her a racquet. She added, "And some tennis clothes." The girl knows what's important!

It's Beginning to Feel Like Summer!

We were so excited to be out of school on the Monday after Easter. It was starting to feel a little like summer so the kids decided it was time to bring the sprinkler out. They ran and played for awhile and then decided to wrap up and have some lunch.
