Happy Halloween!

Getting all dolled up as a "Go-Go Girl."

Mr. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle

Sam, Liza, Walker, Anna Grace, Charlotte & John David

3 generations - '50's, '60's, & '70's!

Lots of games at TCC

The kids were so excited to get home this afternoon. They couldn't wait to get ready for Halloween. We had a big night planned with a Halloween party and trick-or-treating. After all that, Walker was getting to spend the night with Sam at Bebe's house. Anna Grace was thrilled that Avery was getting to spend the night.

They put their costumes on in a flash and we headed to the Halloween party. Walker had the best time going from game to game - by himself! Anna Grace roamed all over the place with Avery. They talked a lot about going in the haunted house, but never got up the nerve. However, Walker took a tour through and said he went really fast because it was scary!

After the party, Walker went trick-or-treating with Sam before going to Bebe's house. Anna Grace and Avery had a blast trick-or-treating all over Avery's neighborhood. Right now they are in AG's room with their bags of candy. Wonder how much sleep they'll get tonight?!!

Yee-Haa!!

Today was "Western Day" at Walker and Anna Grace's schools. Walker had his Fall Festival and Anna Grace had her Barn Dance. As you can tell, we don't have must western wear, but the kids were happy with what we put together.

Fun at Lilly Creek Farm

The Waldrops hosted a "Pumpkin Party" at their farm this afternoon complete with 3 horses from the Buffalo Park, ATV riding, pumpkin picking, hay rides and pumpkin painting. All the kids had a blast running between the play set, horses and the candy bowls! Walker really enjoyed painting his pumpkin. I think he got more on his clothes than on the pumpkin! Anna Grace had a great time running around with Mary Grace Crumpton. They rode ATVs, decorated their pumpkins and even rode horses together. Later in the afternoon we tried to make s'mores. The fire was so hot we could barely get close enough to roast our marshmallow (of course, that didn't really stop us!) Thanks Arian and Brent for a wonderful afternoon on the farm!

Vampire teeth are a "must have" for any Halloween Party!Anna Grace decided painting was too messy so she used a kit to make her pumpkin into a witch.

Lots of Singing

Anna Grace sang with her school's choir at Celebration Village this past Friday. They have really been practicing hard and did a great job. Colby Scott even played the drums for the "Camp Rock" song - pretty impressive for a 3rd grader! We saw Anna Grace a few times during the performance. She was right behind 2 very tall girls so all we really saw was her red bow bouncing around! But she had a ball and that's all that really matters! Afterwards, we shopped! Daddy lasted for a little bit and then left the shopping to Anna Grace, Bebe (Scott's mom) and me.

Janna Grace & Anna Grace have been friends since they were 2 years old!

Scarecrows, Pumpkins and Buffalos

Anna Grace's class traveled to the Buffalo Park today. Scott went with her since I was off yesterday to go with Walker. He said that he had a hard time gettintg pictures of her because she was either running around with all the kids or taking pictures herself! I'll spare you all the pictures of the animals she took - if you've seen 1 buffalo you've seen them all! I did include a picture of the giraffe's tongue - she was fascinated by how longs it was!

Their class did everything from riding the train to see all the buffalo, playing on the playground, visiting all the animals, picking a pumpkin and trying to find their way out of a hay maze. Their class even got to make a scarecrow! Anna Grace said she could decide what her favorite part of the day was - it was all great!

Walker's 1st Field Trip

Today was the day! It was finally the day for Walker's class to go to Circle Y for their 1st field trip. What a great day - the weather was wonderful, and the kids had a blast! They did everything from riding in the train, playing in the "Bouncy Things," petting (and holding) lots of animals, playing Put-Put, feeding HUGE catfish and picking out just the right pumpkin (which was a very difficult and time consuming endeavor for Walker.) But I think they all would say that the playground was their favorite! Our precious Day School Staff - Thanks for a great day!
Walker took his time and found just the right pumpkin - until he saw a cute little green one!

What a crew!

Witches, Ghosts and Goblins

We've finally gotten into the swing of decorating for Halloween. The kids were so excited to get all the Halloween stuff out of the attic. Anna Grace helped me make this ghost door hanging last year - we thought it was cute. The tattooed pumpkins make precious goblins, and we couldn't leave out the witch!

Decorating Pumpkins

Scott was gone to Knoxville this weekend for the MSU game, so the kids and I decided to do something fun on Saturday morning. We went to a local pumpkin stand for AG and Walker to pick out their own pumpkin. When we got home the kids were ready to cut into them. I explained that we were going to try something different - pumpkin tattoos. When Walker realized that we were not going to cut the pumpkins, he was not thrilled to say the least. But after I explained that we might cut a pumpkin closer to Halloween, he decided he would try to tattoos. So the kids cleaned their pumpkins up, picked their tattoo and carefully rubbed it on with wet sponges. When they pulled the paper off, we were all excited to see that the faces were adorable!

Cheetah Girls Concert

AG was so excited to be going to the Cheetah Girls concert this past Friday night. She had the sniffles, a cough and a little fever the night before, but she was bound and determined to be well so that she could go to the concert. We grabbed sandwiches from Pepper's with the Rays and then headed for the concert. I could not believe all the cheetah print we saw from head to toe on some girls. We even saw sequins and lots of "Libby Lu" dos!

So we get to our seats and light go out, and the screaming begins. Imagine thousands of 5 to 12 year olds screaming their lungs out! We all expected to see the Cheetah Girls. But, no, it was a hard rock boy band. And I do mean "boy" band (they couldn't have been more than 10-12 years old.) Next, Clique Girlz comes out. AG had never heard of them, but they did have some catchy tunes.

Finally, it was time for the Cheetah Girls. And they did put on a really good show - complete with lots of costume changes, dancing, and some pretty cool stunts. AG loved it. She knew many of the songs. She said that her favorite parts were the girls sitting in chandeliers and singing up in the air, the girls singing on raised platforms, and the confetti at the end. We was exhausted by the time it was over, but it was a great 1st concert for AG.

(I forgot my camera, but Shannon got some shots for me. I'll get them up as soon as I get them from her.)

Lounging Around

Walker and Anna Grace had a big time a the MSU game today. (GO DAWGS!!!) Needless to say, they were exhausted when they got home. So, after baths they decided to watch a movie in our room. Usually they curl up in the bed, but tonight the decided that their beanbag chairs would be more comfy. I wish I had a picture of Walker wagging that huge beanbag down the hall! It's about as big as he is!

Sunday Lunch with Family

Amazing! A good picture of all the grandkids!
AG loves the tire swing.
Walker - holding on for dear life!
This past Sunday Scott's parents invited all the kids and grandkids for Sunday lunch. Although we all live in Tupelo, we don't get to see each other very often. The kids always have the best time together. Anna Grace loves to take care of Charlotte and John David. Walker and Sam can entertain each other for hours. Lexie and Liza usually keep an eye on all the younger kids.
