Breakfast Buddy

Walker was my breakfast buddy the one morning this week.  AG had to be at school early so Walker asked for McDonald's.  He ordered the BIG breakfast with hotcakes!  I think his eyes were bigger than his stomach, because he couldn't eat half of it.  He was definitely full when he got to school!

Macbook and homework

Starting in 6th grade, the schools give all student Macbooks.  Many of their text books are on the computer and most all of their homework is assigned over the computer.  Not surprising, that  most of their tests are also on the computer.  Crazy, huh?

Go Dawgs!!

We've cheered on the Bulldogs at their home games.  So proud they are 3-0!!!  GO DAWGS!!
Walker (8) and Anna Grace (11)
 Like father, like son!
They got to hang out with Katelyn and Preston during one of the games.

Room Make-Over

Anna Grace had been asking for a new desk for nearly a year.  This past spring, we finally picked up my great-grandmother's desk from my parent' house.  It is solid cherry and absolutely beautiful!  It just needed a face lift for Anna Grace's room.  So this summer, I finally had time to paint it.  It was an ordeal, but it turned out wonderful!

In the meantime, we also got Anna Grace a new, bigger mattresses which required a new bed.  We decided the four poster bed would take up too much room, so we opted for a metal frame and a DIY headboard.  I found an old door, but had to wait for PopPop to put it all together.
Anna Grace had outgrown her dollhouse bookcase that PopPop made for her when she was 3 (sniff sniff).  So we painted a laminate bookcase which was also an ordeal but turned out great.   (BTW - don't believe pinterest...always sand first - especially laminate pieces!!)
Well, Nana and PopPop finally made to trip to Tupelo.  PopPop and I worked on the headboard most of the weekend.  This is a "middle of the project" picture
While we worked on the headboard, Nana and walker researched boomerangs!!  I'm not sure why Walker has a fascination with boomerangs, but he and Nana tried to figure out how to throw them.  She promised to get him a real one for his birthday - yea!!
Nana also helped Anna Grace make a bracelet.

Bless PopPop's heart, he was drenched by the time we finished the headboard!
But it turned out perfectly!  Thanks PopPop!

Helping around the House

Anna Grace and Walker have been helping out in the kitchen, from time to time.  Of course, it is usually only when they think they are getting paid to help!!
Actually, they both do love to help cook.  Anna Grace enjoys helping me cook supper while Walker usually sticks to omelets!
