The Ups and Downs of 4th grade

Walker loves his 4th grade class!  He has Ms. C. for homeroom, Mrs. R for Language/Reading and Ms. D for Math.  He is very happy that several of his best friends are in his classes.
Last week Walker got in the car after school and asked if he could wear his suit to school on Friday.  I said, "You don't have a suit."  He said, "Well, what about a sports coat?"  I had to break the news that he didn't have a sports coat either.  He was adamant that he had to dress up on Friday.  He said Mrs. C is a big Ole Miss fan, but she said that if he and his friends dressed up the next day then she would cheer for both teams this season.  This was the best we could do on short notice!!  I think he looks pretty cute!
Of course, Ms. C. got several pictures of them.  They were even in the school e-newletter this week!!

After school that day Walker got sick.  We thought it was just the fever virus, but after 5 days of fever we found out it was pneumonia!!  He has been out of school for the entire week!  We are praying he'll be back to his old self very soon!!

Sweet Mary Campbell

Anna Grace had been dying to see Mary Campbell so we stopped by after school one day.  She is an absolute doll!!  We are so glad she is part of our family and are looking forward to watching her grow up!

Happy 1st Day of School!!

First day of school!  Walker is starting 4th grade and Anna Grace is in 7th grade!

Caroline rode home with us after school.  She and Anna Grace were glad to have survived their 1st day in Jr. High!!

Before School Mani & Pedi

For the past several years Anna Grace and I have gotten a mani and pedi right before school starts.  It's so nice to get a little pampering before the craziness of school starts. I think we started this girls' tradition when she was going into 3rd grade and now she is starting 7th grade!!  Jr. High!!!  (sniff, sniff)

Stallings Family Get Away

This year our family decided to forgo a beach trip and head north to the Marriott at Muscle Shoals.  This is the first time our entire family has gone on a trip together in many years!
Everyone came to Tupelo on Thursday, and we all enjoyed dinner at our house.  The kids had a great time playing together!  Ann Thomas really enjoyed playing with Chip!

Anna Grace was so excited that she finally go a "one man" in the pool with Angie!
Even Nana tried out the slide!!
The splash pad was a hit too!

We celebrate our birthdays while we were all together.  Don't worry...the cake isn't really on fire!
After dinner we went back to the splash pad to watch the light show.

One last swim before everyone headed home.  We all decided it was a great weekend get away and perfect for our family!  Looking forward to doing it again next year!
