Kick It!

A clip from Walker's 2nd soccer game.

Prayer Request

A dear friend of mine was just diagnosed with breast cancer this week. She is scheduled for a mastectomy tomorrow or next week. She and her husband have 3 young children. Please pray for them as they cope with this devastating news and prepare for surgery and treatments.

Mom of Eleven

My sweet sister-in-law, Leigh Ann, ran across this mom's blog and forwarded it to me. I'm not sure how she does it with 11 kids in all (3 biological and 8 permanent custody.) God definitely has His hand on their family! I'm not sure I would still be sane! I often get overwhelmed caring for my 2 children! Her blog helps remind me that we are not in control - He is - and He can do great things through us, if we let Him!

Ribs with the Rays

Scott absolutely loves to grill, so luckily for me, he will usually fire something up when we have people over to eat. Usually sometime over the weekend we get together with our dear friends Greg and Shannon Ray. So this Saturday we got together to watch the LSU vs. Alburn game, and Scott decided ribs would be on the menu. He didn't think the kids would really like ribs so he also grilled a tenderloin. My contribution to the meal - Pepper's potato salad and KFC's coleslaw (you see who's the chef in our family!) Well, at the end of the night I think there were only 2 or 3 end pieces of ribs left. This kids loved them!
Walk's 1st attempt at ribs!

With one 1 front tooth, AG had to use a fork!

Avery really enjoyed her ribs!

Even Reagan got a little messy!

Walker declares that ribs are "tulicius!"

New Soccer Family

We have just become a soccer family! Walker had his 1st soccer game tonight, and he played his little heart out. He scored 3 goals! Unfortunately we only had 3 goals to the other team's 7 or 8. But at least most our players had a good time. Some were more interested in picking grass or hanging from the goal net, but hey it's the experience that counts!

Progressing on the Piano

Anna Grace is still enjoying piano lessons and seems to be catching on fairly quickly. She's no Motzart, but she is getting better. Wonder if the gum chewing helps her keep time?

Weekend with the Jacks

Anna Grace and Walker were on pins and needles waiting on Friday night to get here. The Jacks came to visit for the weekend, and they could not wait to see Kylie & Haiden. The Jacks moved from Tupelo to Auburn 4 years ago, and we only get to see them a few times a year (usually coinciding with MSU and Auburn sporting events.) The kids pick up like they see each other every day. Kylie did AGs nails and hair, and Haiden and Walker rough housed all Friday night. You would think that they are all brothers and sisters by the way they fuss with each other!

Saturday morning the guys headed to tailgate with the 2 boys. I had class so Jennifer and the girls went shopping and visiting with family. We left for MSU after lunch. We had a great time tailgating with the Ropers. Walker and Haiden played so hard all day they were nearly give out by the time the game started. During the game Walker decided that he was going to pull for "Aubrun" like Haiden.

While the game was not much to watch (on either side of the ball), we had a great time catching up with good friends. Many tears were shed by the Wise kids on Sunday when the Jacks backed out of the driveway. They are still asking when they can play with Kylie and Haiden again. Scott and I both assure them that it won't be too long - basketball season is just around the corner!

(I misplaced my camera on Saturday and had to use the camera on my phone. I'll try to add those pictures just as soon as I can figure out how to download them!)

Go DAWGS!

Saturday was a good day for the bulldogs! The kids had a great time playing at the tailgate, meeting Bully and goofing off at the game. The dads enjoyed a win and the moms enjoyed heading home with kids who were finally quiet and still (and asleep!)

New "Sleats"

Walker has been looking forward to soccer season for months! Last year he watched his cousin Sam and other friends play and couldn't wait until he was old enough to play too. On Tuesday Scott took him to get his soccer gear. Walker was so proud of his blue and white "sleats" (cleats)that he picked out himself! He also chose matching blue shin guards and soccer ball. He was all ready for his first practice this afternoon. When I picked him up from school I had to be the bearer of bad new. . . practice was rained out. I haven't seen his bottom lip poke out that far in a long time. Hopefully next week it will be sunny!

The Splash Pad

On Labor Day, we were able to spend the day together as a family which doesn't happen very often! We ate breakfast at Atlanta Bread Company which was delicious! Later we went to the new "Splash Pad." It was a little overcast and windy so the kids didn't stay in the water very long. They had their eyes on the playground and quickly made their way to the monkey bars. They could have swung on those bars for hours! We finally had to pry them away with promises of McDonalds for lunch!
