State Baseball Tournament

Walker was excited to play in the State Tournament in Oxford. Their first games was on Thursday afternoon.  Walker played great until he got hit on his left hand by an inside pitch.  His hand swelled up quickly and he couldn't get his glove on.  Needless to say, he was out for the rest of the game.

The next morning we went for an X-ray.  Thank goodness it wasn't broken, but the doctor said he couldn't play that day.  That about killed him to sit in the dug out!

He ended up getting in the game when one of our players felt sick.  He put on a right handed glove and covered right field!

His hand was still sore on Saturday, but he was determined to play.  He didn't flinch when he stepped up to bat.  I was so proud of him!

The MudDawgs didn't win any tournament but they learned a lot about baseball and sportsmanship this year.  We look forward to watching all these boys continue to grow in their baseball skills and love of the game.
