"I am Olga Korbut"

The 2nd grade students at Anna Grace's school participated in a wax museum. Each student selected a famous person they wanted to research. They wrote a short report, gave an oral presentation in class, and created a display board about the person they chose. Later in the week all the students came dressed as the person they selected and presented their wax museum to families and other classes. There were "buttons" on the floor in front of each student. When someone stepped on a student's button, the student stood up and explained who they were and why they were famous. It was very educational and entertaining!
Anna Grace chose Olga Korbut who was a Russian gymnast in the 1972 Munich Olympics. She is credited with bringing acrobatics to the sport of gymnastics. She was was the first Russian gymnast to show emotion so the world loved her. Thousands of girls began gymnastics training after watching Olga in the Olympics that year.
